I was waiting until everything was 100% complete before sharing this information with you. Yes, the Claustrophobia 1643 has now officially wrapped for me. The soundtrack complete, not only as a downloadable MP3 but also as an app version, thanks to Syrinscape. What does that mean? Well let me explain in this video… So now I am done with music, I will go back to doing board game reviews and board game videos. Just until the next soundscape comes along… here are some links to places to get the soundscape

Hello Chaps and Chapettes,
It has been a while, I know. And again, I apologies for my working speed (the speed of a zombie.) I have not been able to swing a cat because my arms are occupied with "Player 4" (who keeps me awake, so I now feel like a zombie.) Getting 10 minutes here and there to film and edit a video is a frustrating way to make a video. But in a way, it compensated in me producing a better video (I feel.) So, after what seems like forever, as I have 1) been wanting to review this since starting reviews and 2) spent over a week (that's right) piecing it together. You may be asking me, "you are left holding the baby?" To which I would reply, "yes." I am a very lucky chap as my wife (Player 2) likes to DIY. And that is exactly what she has been doing. Leaving me to be the house husband. So anyway, Last Night on Earth is a game that I played many times and want to play more. Not because of the crass mechanisms that make up this, Take That, Roll & Move, a thing from the 80's. But because it captures the theme of a "B" Movie, zombie horror flick perfectly...So is this a perfect game for you? Watch the review...

How do you play this?... 4:47 Is it your cup of tea?... 12:38 Don't forget that this game also inspired me to start composing soundscapes for board games, all because it comes with a soundtrack CD. You know the one I'm talking about...! =D Ciao for now
As some of you may or may not know, I like music.
I add it into my videos... I listen to it while playing games... And it helps me sleep (but keeps my wife up) And it is this love of music and passion that helped me grab the chance to produce more music, this time directly asked to by a board game designer. Bruno Sauter, the man behind the very successful Kickstarter "The 7th Continent" was on the look out for someone to create a soundtrack for his game. It was an added stretch goal to the project and something he personally wanted in the game. A musician was hired to work on the project but after many months, had to leave. So the hunt was on to find a replacement. Kickstarters run on a ticking time-bomb, timescale. The project needs to be delivered to the backers on a specific time. I had had the chance to play a prototype of the game and create a video, demonstrating how the game plays, so I had a little interaction with Bruno. I chatted with him at several festivals and conventions, inquiring how the production was going. At one of these event, he informed me of the loss of his composer. I interrupted him, saying that I knew of several people that could create a soundtrack...myself included. He said he will look into the names I had given. So between the months of December 2016 and March 2017, I set to work creating soundscapes for the 10 area involved in the game. I expanded the requested time duration of each track from 5 minutes to 10-15 minutes, because I knew these tracks would be played on a loop. And I knew from experience (Bruno too), how annoying a small track, on a loop, can get irksome. Ideally, I would have preferred a 30 minute track for each zone, but due to that ticking time-bomb deadline, I made them as long as I could. listen and download for freeAnd now that the project is finished, I look back in contentment at the amount of work I produced, in the short amout of time. And I dream of the day when someone drops me a message, with the challenge..."Would you like to composes a soundtrack?" |
