So, we have made it to the end.

These are the game that I am willing to play at a last minute announcement.

These are the game that I would walk out of your wedding reception, if I was texted, there was a space at someones game table.

These are the game...well, you get the picture. Are some of the finest game that sit on my shelf. And I will let the animate me tell you why.

If you want to delve into my to ten a little more, here are some of the reviews that I have done on these games. Again, most of them I have covered. From my early years, learning how  to make videos, to the experiment "LIVE" board game review. Interesting stuff.

10: ticket to ride

9: tobago

8: survive: escape from atlantis

7: el dorado

6: the resistance

5: qwirkle

4: catan

3: the 7th continent

2: splendor

1: viticulture

So, what do you think?
Are these games too old for lovin'?
Have I lost my touch?
Or am I a connoisseur?
Maybe I am just crazy =P

There you go. This is a list that I will be doing again at the end of the next year. Not sure if anything will change, but we shall see.

Talking of the end of the year, I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for tuning in and thank you for your comments and support. Below, you will see a special thank you video for my Patreons, who have made donations to help towards making the videos and keeping this web site alive.

Again big THANX

30 games I'd drop everything for... (part 2)

Continuing on with my...

When I last left you with the cliffhanger, I had shown you numbers 30 to 21. They were all very interesting games, yes?

And I was surprised to see that I had actual reviewed a majority of those game. I was expecting to just wack up a few images to show you the games, But no. I had them covered. But this group of ten games is very different. Not all of them have been reviewed. Some have been sat on my shelf, waiting to be put in the spotlight of the camera. I have even dreamed that the videos had been published, but no. No time to do so as there is always a KS project that needs my help.

Maybe 2018 will be the year that I show my feelings for these gems of a game...So let's carry on, shall we?

here is my list from 20 to 11

20: Conan

This is one of the few Kickstarter only game that made the list. A fantasy team work game that has mechanics that I wish were in every dungeon crawling game.
And thankfully, they will be used in the new Batman: Gotham City Chronicles

19: sheriff of nottingham

A great bluffing game, where role-playing brings out the laughs and giggles as you try to sneak goods in and out of Nottingham...Or not!

18: star wars: imperial ASSAULT

A dungeon crawl in the universe of Star Wars. With some great scenarios and beautifully realized for the tabletop. Made my list due to the downloadable app that lets you play co-op.

AI overlords rule!

17: JAMAICA

"Roll & Move" may be dead, but this game keeps it alive and fresh. A racing game with a difference...There is strategy.

Colorful and a delight to play. This game works in any gaming situation.

16: new york 1901

A card drafting game, much like Royals and Ticket To Ride. But this one is not so nasty to other players and delightfully quick to play. This has a classic feel to it, as if the game was actually made in this era.

15: carcassonne

Making a giant map together but competing to get points in certain areas is huge fun. This game can be a simple as you like or made more complex and intriguing with the addition on expansions.

14: dungeon petz

Work placement again, with a unique twist. Grouping your workers gives you priority. A fantastically themed game of buying, looking after and selling creatures to gain reputation for you pet store...Pure genius.

13: PHOTOSYNTHESIS

A brand new game that, after playing once at the beginning of the year, I fell for. Planting trees and growing them to get points, in an elegant system where the placement is important to generating energy. That is photosynthesis...

12: outlive

It's that old worker placement thing, again. A very Euro style mechanic but in this heavily theme, post apocalyptic game see you moving your survivor around, savaging to survive. A heavy "Fallout" the board game.

11: the great dalmuti

A trick taking game, where depleting your hand to zero card, the quickest will win you the crown (and certain privileges over the other players.)
A family favorite that we play until the early hours of the morning.

So there you have it. Another ten enjoyable games that I can't say "no" to. Unless there are no more hours in the day or I have played them five times in a row already. Change is good.

So next it will be the big ten games. And I will present them in a big epic video.

30 games I'd drop everything for... (part 1)

It's the end of the year...

We are soon going to get more games to add to our shelf...

Or we are going to get more shelfs to place out games one...

And I have had no time to dig into a games, explain it and point out it weak points, like a Death Star rebel plans. But I do have time to make a list of...
Yes, I'm on the top ten band wagon. Not something that I am proud of but a necessity to show you and the world my true colors in gaming. People like to know where you come from and what your preferences are. That way they can gage if you are bias or honest.

And I like to be honest. There nothing like being lied to by the man selling unbreakable knifes, that after two week of use, brake!

So, what went into making this list?

Well, I took all the games that I enjoyed play and a list of my most played games. (Yes, I like to keep a record of everything I touch. But not a record of every thing I won, because it would be futile.) I combined them together and then chose the games that, if ask to play right now, I'd say "LET'S GOOOOOO!"

I eliminated game that I have only played once or twice. Because the eagerness to play a game like that again is strong and not a true judge of if it is a game that I drop anything for. I also eliminated games that are not in my collection. If I don't own it, why would it be on this list. Again that goes for any game that I want to play now (ie Batman: Gotham City Chronicles) because they are not available. Hench Conan made the cut, as it is the same engine.

This narrowed my list down to 30 games. Not bad. And then I had to put them in order of what would get priority. There is always one game that you'd prefer to play than another, right?

here is my list from 30 - 21

30: Game of Thrones - the card game

One interesting card game that the theme fits well with each family as well as the players actions.

29: the pursuit of happiness

A worker placement (love them) with a great theme. Life.
The game quickly becomes a second life for you as you do those things you wish you did do.

28: dominion

A deck builder (love them too) the first and most light fun that you can have with a growing deck of cards.

27: galaxy trucker

This feels like it has been taken from a game show and is extremely fun. If you like watching someone destroy your Lego tower.

26: crossing

Laugh and steal and point your finger. Enjoyable in any situation. A small party game that has big memory's for me.

25: timeline

The ultimate trivia game in a for that everyone can play. And even when your not sure, there are chance you'll get it right.
And available in many flavors.

24: telestrations/esquissé?

So you're not good at drawing! That's the fun of this game. Not being able to draw and wetting yourself, because the chaos it produces.

23: last night on earth

There are many great Zombie games out there. But no of them capture the stupidity and craziness and fear, like this one.

22: heroscape

So much terrain. So many units and heroes. This is my favorite type of skirmish. Light enough for children and scenarios as infinite as your imagination.

21: stone age

Like I said, work placement is my cup of tea. This time there are dice and mathematics involved that make every decision crucial. And the less said about baby making...

And for today, I will leave it there. But I will be back with the rest of the list, including the top ten itself. So lets just add a...
